Conversion worth seeing: Lemmo One as an electric gravel bike

E BIKE

The Lemmo One e-bike was a surprise success last year. The manufacturer is now presenting a parts list that transforms the Pedelec into a gravel bike.

The Lemmo One is a rather unusual e-bike anyway. Thanks to an innovative drive with built-in “freewheel”, you can drive almost without resistance if you wish. When purchasing, the manufacturer also gives you the choice of whether you want to ride the e-bike with a chain or a belt and the so-called Smartpac also has certain advantages that are not available with other e-bikes in this form.

The Lemmo One is a typical representative of e-city bikes and won several design awards last year, including the RED DOT Award 2023, the iF Design Award 2023 and the Design Intelligence Award (DIA) 2023. Still don’t like it? A few modifications using standardized parts fundamentally change the look and the Lemmo One becomes a gravel bike. With this, jumps and visits to the bike park remain taboo, but excursions over forest paths, hills and dale are less frightening.

The startup itself reveals what such a conversion can look like and which parts are recommended for a gravel bike based on the Lemmo One. Practical: These are not special parts or individual one-offs, but normal accessories from well-known third-party providers, which you can get from them can be purchased from regular bicycle shops. Equipped in this way, the Pedelec is also suitable for shorter bikepacking trips.

Parts list

Below you will find the parts used for the conversion. Important: If you plan to use your Lemmo One as a gravel bike, you should of course choose the model with a chain instead of a belt drive from the outset, as the gear ratio would otherwise be unsuitable on (easy) terrain. Further information about the Gravel Edition of the Lemmo One can also be found in this blog post from Lemmo.
