Convicted by police – 19-year-old attended course and stole five computers

Opportunity makes thieves, says an old saying that applies to this current criminal case: A 19-year-old attended a training course at an education center in Pongau. He took advantage of the opportunity and took five computers home with him.

The course lasted just four days, between October 16th and 20th, with nine participants. Three laptops and two stand-alone PCs were then gone. “Due to the limited number of participants,” the officers were able to quickly locate the suspected thief, according to the police report. But the 19-year-old probably panicked as a result of the investigation: he poured nitro thinner over the PC computers and left them in front of the education center days later, this Monday. During a house search, the officers discovered an undamaged one in the Pongauer’s “children’s room”. Laptop and parts of two others. The stolen goods were therefore no longer functional. The 19-year-old explained to the officers that he wanted to use the computers to build a server with which he could take part in a video game and earn money. Now it is displayed.
