Cool concepts – Will Fiat’s future really be so trendy and weird?

Fiat wants to introduce a new model every year until 2027. Five concept cars now unveiled by the Italians show where the journey could go. All studies are characterized by a futuristic look with handleless doors and something like coarse-resolution displays at the front and rear.

Technically, all five concepts should be based on multi-energy platforms, which are likely to be the new STLA platforms from the Stellantis Group. According to Fiat, the concepts provide a glimpse of models that will be relevant for Europe, South America and Africa. Accordingly, all new products are likely to be available with electric drives and, in some markets, also with combustion engines. The City Concept is called Panda, the new edition of which Fiat plans to unveil this summer. The Panda concept is a small electric car that is technically closely related to the approximately four meter long small electric car Citroen e-C3. Accordingly, the new electric version of the Panda will not share the platform with the Fiat 500 Electric. Fiat is also showing three visually very similar crossover types. The Concept SUV suggests a five-door compact SUV, while the Concept Fastback shows a coupe-like version. Finally, the concept pick-up with an open-topped rear section should provide a glimpse of a new edition of the Strada. With the Concept Camper, Fiat is finally presenting a robust and versatile van.
