It was quiet around Cora Schumacher for around six days. On October 12, 2024, Ralf Schumacher’s ex-wife will return to Instagram for the first time.

In the end it was all too much for her: Cora Schumacher, 47, announced on October 7, 2024 that she wanted to withdraw from social media for the time being. “These attacks have become unbearable,” wrote the ex-“Jungle Camp” candidate. Just a day earlier, her son David Schumacher, 22, had published a statement on his Instagram account in which he clearly positioned himself against his mother and took the side of Ralf Schumacher, 49, in the ongoing dispute between his parents.

Cora Schumacher speaks of “emotional pain”

Cora Schumacher begins her first words after her social media break with a quote from the doctor and philosopher Albert Schweitzer, who died in 1965. “Only those who show their weakness are really strong,” Schumacher’s followers can read in white letters on a pink background. Below it is the word “healing” written in cursive, in German: “heilen”, right next to it you can see an illustration of a small plaster. The song “True Colors” by Eva Cassidy plays in the background of the Instagram story.

The 47-year-old continues: “Getting professional help to process what you’ve experienced is just as natural as treating a broken leg. Emotional pain deserves just as much attention! [sic]” The second paragraph reads: “To everyone who is going through abuse, domestic violence or other stressful experiences: you are not alone. Contact pastoral care hotlines or counseling centers. Seeking help is an act of strength, not weakness!”

Cora Schumacher shares an emotional appeal to her fans.

After that she seems to have withdrawn again; apart from these words, Schumacher does not publish any further posts or stories. The comment function under the postings that are still viewable is still deactivated.

Schumacher’s son David shared worrying childhood memories

Cora’s statement on October 12th followed a months-long argument between her and her ex-husband Ralf. The former Formula 1 driver made his relationship with Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne public in mid-July this year. Cora then reacted hurtfully; she didn’t want to know about a romantic connection between Ralf and Étienne. The fact that the couple revealed details of their love in interviews apparently hurt Cora even more. She also used a media-effective conversation to describe her point of view.

It seemed as if the situation of the former Schumacher couple became more and more tense with every revelation and every new interview. The fact that David spoke in detail on October 4th was apparently the last straw that broke the camel’s back. Cora Schumacher sent her son a cease and desist request, spoke in a subsequent Instagram story about an alleged “smear campaign” and declared: “These allegations are in no way justified and do not correspond to the truth.”
