Corona aktuell: keep your distance – what is so difficult to understand about it?

In the corona crisis, the following applies: Keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters from other people. But some seem to give a damn about it. Our author just has to let off steam.

I have to get rid of something: I just don't get it. Everyone has been talking for months about the measures that are fundamentally important to contain the spread of the corona virus: Wear a face mask in public areas and keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters from other people. There is no getting around this information, even if you lived on the moon.

And? It seems that, however, many people simply did not notice it in general or that they can partially hide it under certain conditions or in special situations. For example yesterday while walking along the Alster: On the way, many joggers pass so close that the friend I was with is repeatedly touched on the arm. Or in the supermarket, when, while I wait for the customer in front of me to decide between the types of cheese, the customer pushes in from the right to quickly grab his favorite cheese. He didn't even notice me, let alone registered that I was waiting.

A similar picture emerges for me as a cyclist in traffic. People are passing close and other cyclists like to stand next to me at the traffic lights. Why? Are there any exceptions I don't know about? Or is it even now more important to get to your goal quickly personally?

It annoys me very much that, even in these extraordinary times of the Corona crisis, many do not manage to pay more attention to the others around them. You don't have to be sensitive, you just have to be able to think up to 1.5 meters. I ask myself quite simply: What is so difficult about that?
