Corona aktuell: The risk of infection is greatest in these countries

Despite Corona, many Germans used the summer vacation to travel internationally. The Robert Koch Institute has now published a list of the countries in which most are infected.

Many people were delighted when most of the national borders in Europe were reopened at the beginning of the summer holidays and the Foreign Office lifted the travel warnings for some of the most popular holiday destinations for Germans – and in some cases promptly booked an international trip. From the Balearic Islands to the Balkans, while some stayed at home out of fear, consideration or just caution, others flew wherever they went. In a few days or weeks, we will know whether this will take revenge for all of us with a second wave or whether we will survive the vacation time with a reasonable increase in the number of infections – although of course, even if it comes, the second wave will not be traveling alone is due.

These countries most frequently named infected people as possible places of infection

In its situation report of August 11th, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) published a list of the countries in which most of those returning from vacation could have been infected between July 13th and August 9th. It is not certain whether the infection actually took place in the respective country – only probable: It is the countries that infected people themselves most frequently indicated as a possible place of infection. To classify: In Germany itself 8607 new infections were reported during this period.

  1. Kosovo: 1096 possible infections. The Foreign Office is now warning against traveling to the Western Balkans.

  3. Croatia: 206 possible infections.
  4. Serbia: 196 possible infections. The Federal Foreign Office is currently warning against a trip to the country.

  6. Bosnia and Herzegovina: 156 possible infections. The Federal Foreign Office is currently warning against a trip to the country.
  7. Romania: 113 possible infections. The Federal Foreign Office warns against a trip to certain regions.
  8. Poland: 112 possible infections.
  9. Spain: 107 possible infections. Due to the increasing number of infections, the Federal Foreign Office has now classified the mainland and the Balearic Islands as risk areas.
  10. Macedonia: 92 possible infections. The Federal Foreign Office is currently warning against a trip to the country.
  11. Albania: 86 possible infections. The Federal Foreign Office is currently warning against a trip to the country.
  12. Netherlands: 50 possible infections.
  13. Austria: 44 possible infections.
  14. France: 43 possible infections.
  15. Ukraine: 43 possible infections. The Federal Foreign Office is currently warning against a trip to the country.
