Which shops are open now?

New corona measures have been in effect since this week. According to the decision of the federal-state conference, the first shops are allowed to reopen. Which stores are included? We give the overview.
In order to create a long-term perspective in the Corona crisis, the federal and state governments agreed on an opening plan last week. In several steps, the population should be given the prospect of easing the corona measures. Although the new infections in Germany are still at a very high level, the first resolutions have already come into force – since Monday, March 8th, more shops have been allowed to open again.
At the beginning of March, the hairdressers were considered to be the pioneers of opening, now further service and retail stores are to follow. Who does it include? And where are you allowed to shop again under which Corona rules? We give the overview.
First corona easing: What has opened again since March 8th?
According to a statement by the federal government, the following shops will be allowed to reopen from March 8, according to the federal-state resolution:
- Florists
- Garden trade
- Bookstores
These three types of business are now assigned to daily needs and are therefore allowed to be open. However, hygiene rules and special corona measures must also apply here. For example, with 800 square meters of retail space, only one customer per 10 square meters of entry is allowed. So the number is still limited.
In addition, certain other areas are allowed to reopen. These include:
- Body-close service companies
- Driving schools
- Flight schools
Hygiene concepts also apply here.
Why are there more shops open elsewhere?
As usual, the resolutions of the federal-state conference only provide the framework for the Corona regulation. The details are a matter of the state, i.e. each state has to decide for itself how far something can be opened. This decision in turn depends on the infection situation on site.
At a Incidence between 50 and 100 The following openings are also allowed from March 8th:
- Click & Meet – retail shopping with appointment booking
- Museums, galleries, zoos, botanical gardens and memorials with appointment booking and documentation
- Individual sports outside with a maximum of five people from two households (or a maximum of 20 children)
At a Incidence less than 50 the following things are allowed again:
- Opening of the retail trade with a limited number of customers
- Museums, galleries, zoos, botanical gardens and memorials
- non-contact outdoor sports with a maximum of ten people

What else has happened since March 8th?
The contact restrictions were relaxed according to the federal-state resolution. As of this week, a maximum of five people from two households can meet again. Children up to 14 years do not count.
