According to a current paper by the Ministry of Health, all German citizens who want to have been vaccinated against the corona virus at least once by September 2021.
While vaccinations against the coronavirus are currently still getting off to a slow start in this country, Chancellor Angela Merkel is confident that the vaccination rate could increase significantly from the second quarter of 2021. In a current paper on the modeling of vaccine supply, Merkel and the state ministers have stated that they are "optimistic" that every German citizen aged 18 and over can be vaccinated at least once by September 21. It could take until the beginning of November until all those willing to be vaccinated are fully vaccinated twice. The prerequisite is that the manufacturers of the current vaccines can keep their delivery promises. That reports Bild.de.
Hope for more manufacturers
The federal government is referring to a model calculation by the Central Institute for Statutory Health Insurance in Germany (Zi). This is actually even a little more confident – provided that more vaccines from the manufacturers Johnson & Johnson and Curevac are added to the previous vaccines, All Germans up to the age of 18 could even receive the two necessary vaccine doses by September 1st. The company Curevac just announced that a rapid testing process for its newly developed vaccine has just started and approval could possibly be granted as early as April. According to the Robert Koch Institute, around 272,917 vaccinations are carried out daily with the three vaccines available to date. If the model calculation is correct, 700,000 vaccinations could be carried out daily from the second quarter of the year.
Vaccination centers on standby
So that this ambitious goal can be achieved at all, the vaccination centers must also expand their work significantly. In fact, the centers would probably even reach the limit of their capacity.
