Corona current: 3 DHL rules that protect you and suppliers

A stroll in the shopping center was so normal for a long time that we didn't even notice how many shops we visited in a short time. A book here, a new sweater there – long shopping days are a thing of the past.

One sector is causing the corona crisis to flourish: Many people simply move the shopping spree onto the Internet. But while customers can simply have products conveniently delivered, many forget that something crucial is needed: people who bring your parcels home.

For this reason, DHL has now announced measures to address the corona crisis. These apply not only to the protection of the recipient, but also to the parcel delivery company. Because while many people can still comfortably carry out their work in their home office, they work at high pressure – and can rarely avoid customer contact. That should change now. But above all, the help of each individual is needed.

3 Corona measures you can use to support parcel deliverers

You no longer have to sign

DHL announces that it will now refrain from signing parcel deliveries. In the end, one inevitably gets closer. That is why the employees should now sign themselves when the package arrives: "The deliverer will continue to ring and only then confirm delivery of the shipment," assures DHL on the website.

You should choose a storage location

Here DHL asks the customers to take action themselves: in the shipment tracking, a storage location can be specified online. This is actually intended for the case that the recipient cannot be found at home. Now everyone is called to use the function. In this way, the parcel deliverer can place the delivery safely and completely without contact.

Pack stations are to be used increasingly

If you are not yet registered with a Packstation – now is the right time. Because this variant is the safest delivery in the corona crisis. DHL is currently reiterating that the Packstation is not associated with additional costs – and is not only suitable for collection, but also for shipping. Deliveries that have already been ordered can now be redirected online!
