Corona current: 6 things a cashier wants to tell you now

Not only doctors and nurses are reaching their limits these days. The corona crisis is also a special challenge for supermarket employees. As crowds storm their shops, they stand next to them shaking their heads – working hard to refill empty shelves.

How does it feel to be surrounded by countless people every day when you should actually avoid them? Do we really have to hamster now? And what can you currently do for cashiers? An employee of the supermarket chain "Rewe" tells us about his everyday life on the supermarket front.

At Corona times at the checkout: 6 questions for the supermarket employee

Are you scared of the crowds in the supermarket right now?

"I am not afraid of people, no. But I do not understand why many pensioners in particular still talk so much to others when shopping and sometimes do not keep the safety distance.

Some customers regularly come too close to us or touch us, which we don't like at the moment. "

Are customers buying different things now?

"I found it really bizarre that in the end the customers bought the most expensive toilet paper in bulk. The price didn't matter, even if it was otherwise the shop keeper."

Do we have to shop a lot and be afraid of empty warehouses?

There is no need to hamster. Sure, here and there there are no longer any type and brand, but there are replenishments every day! And that will probably still be the case in four weeks.

What do you want from your customers?

"I have no wishes from most of the customers, but I would from the incorrigible grumblers want a little bit more understanding… You shouldn't let us know that you are not getting everything at the moment. "

Do you want to tell people something?

"Please do not come to us for a can of peas and roots. Please think about your health beforehand."

But we also want to thank the majority of customers: that they show understanding and usually go shopping in a good mood!

Is your job difficult right now?

"I'm happy to have something to do, if I'm honest! The colleagues all pull along – that makes it much more pleasant to go to work."
