Despite Corona measures, many people do not want to go without partying. Apparently not in the Stendal district administration either …

Anyone who says “A party in pandemic times may certainly take place in many places, but not in the public order office!” Will unfortunately now be taught better.

Ten people, one party, one corona infected

A service anniversary, that doesn’t happen every day. That was probably what they thought in the regulatory area of the district administration in Stendal. So why not make an exception to the current corona requirements? Ten people, one party – what will be the consequences? Great, as it turns out now. Because as the “Volksstimme” reported, one of the party guests was infected with the Covid-19 virus. All others had to be quarantined immediately after they became known and are now working in the home office.

The colleagues were lucky: their test turned out to be negative. Nevertheless, the rule breakers now face consequences. That the meeting in the fire and Civil protection took place, somehow gives the whole thing a particularly ironic aftertaste.

Personnel law measures are being examined

One thing is as clear as day: It doesn’t matter whether you work in the public order office, as a teacher or as a hairdresser – we all have to adhere to the current measures to contain the pandemic. Of course also – or maybe even especially – the officials of the Stendal district administration. Wherever you ensure law and order, you almost automatically expect that you obey the rules.

Angela Vogel, the head of the district administrator’s office, announced that the employees are currently being heard and that they are considering measures under personnel law.

District Administrator Patrick Puhlmann (SPD) is investigating to what extent the anniversary party is to be classified as a violation of the applicable corona rules and whether a fine must be imposed. We are sure that the next anniversary will be quieter in the Stendal district administration …
