In Essen, the police had to break up a party that was celebrated despite Corona. The Christmas party took place in a doctor's office, of all places – and could not end without resistance.

One might think that everyone has now understood that Christmas has to be a little different in times of Corona. Because unfortunately the number of reported new infections is still at a high level, only last week the Robert Koch Institute noted another negative record in Germany with over 30,000 cases in 24 hours. The tough lockdown, which will apply until January 10, is now intended to counteract this. Obviously, not everyone seems to be pulling too.

Doctor celebrates Christmas party – despite Corona

The police now had to move in Essen to break up a party. Neighbors had reported a disturbance of the peace. The loud music and the singing of the guests turned out to be a Christmas party – and it took place in a doctor's office, of all places. As the police announced on their press portal, the officers are said to have met a doctor and four of his employees on site. They all belonged to different households and did not wear any face mask. In addition, they are said to have appeared heavily drunk.

The doctor then told the police that he only wanted to reward his employees on the last day of work with a small Christmas party for the stressful year. The information about the applicable Corona measures was less well received by the celebrants: The doctor and one of his employees reacted with outraged shouts. The two did not want to reveal their personal details either – although their colleagues were already trying to appease the troublemakers. Instead, a woman began filming the mission.

Employee bites officer in the finger

But that's not all: When the police searched the doctor and his employees for identification documents, the latter bit an officer on the finger. Then the party came to an abrupt end – both resistance members had to come to the police station. The investigation should still continue.
