In Erding, the corona measures were violated on a massive scale: the police had to break up a party in a retirement home, of all places. Employees celebrated exuberantly – without the residents.

The corona virus continues to spread in Germany. After the "Lockdown Light" had an inadequate effect, the government tightened it over the weekend. Stricter measures will apply from Wednesday in the hope of finally being able to curb the spread. Because: The Robert Koch Institute still reports new infections in the five-digit range every day. Meanwhile, the intensive care units and clinics are reaching their limits.

But the threat of the coronavirus still doesn't seem to have hit everyone's mind. While some people have been restricting themselves for months, others have wild parties. So it has now happened in Bavaria.

Corona party in the retirement home – in front of the risk group

In Erding, the police had to break a celebration with around 40 guests. According to RTL, the officers are said to have received information that led them to a retirement home, of all places. There they actually found a food truck – and a number of people celebrating together. The participants were all employees of the nursing home who had gathered in the courtyard and inside the building.

The police stepped in: the district administrator was informed and the personal details of the celebrants were recorded. According to the police, it is still to be determined whether it was actually a party or a staff meeting. However, both the serving of drinks and the food truck would point to the former.

So it all looks like the staff of the retirement home celebrated a lively Christmas party – mind you, without the residents. The latter belong to the most vulnerable risk group for a serious infection with the coronavirus. Why then, of all places, there is a celebration in the home of the people who need special protection.
