Corona current: shopping errors spread virus

Wash your hands, cough or sneeze in the crook of your arm, keep your distance – the current hygiene rules should be known to everyone by now. But what about small everyday habits with which we subconsciously spread the coronavirus? We usually don't even notice these. But others, because now supermarket employees have spoken with an appeal to their customers.

As reported by "Chip.de", the portal received several tips from employees of different shops. You want to draw attention to the misconduct of many customers. Striking: One observation in particular became more frequent. People seem to tend to hold the deposit between their teeth to have their hands free.

It is really bad how some people hold the deposit voucher in their mouth while we scan the goods. And then we should accept it. That is wrong.

"Chip" quotes an Edeka employee. He was not alone with this appeal. Several letters confirmed that deposit receipts were kept in the mouth, especially during the checkout process – and then given to the employee in full saliva. This is not only unsavory, but also poses a health risk, especially at the current times.

However, the Pfandbon error is not the only reason. There is another habit that should be weaned outside of the corona crisis. Another employee wrote the portal to point out how to handle cash:

Customers lick their fingers and then touch their money. It has always been gross and now scares me.

Some people would wet their fingers in their mouths to be able to grasp the banknotes better afterwards. This is dangerous not only for your own health – after all, pathogens can stick to your hands – but also for those of the cashiers.

We should all pay attention to common hygiene rules in everyday life. Incidentally, these apply not only for your own protection, but also that of others. A doctor told us about his purchase rules in order to protect himself in the best possible way – and a cashier when it was easiest to shop.
