The federal and state governments are discussing how to proceed with the corona pandemic. The lockdown is to be extended and, among other things, the mask requirement is to be tightened.

The new year begins as the last ended: the corona pandemic continues to dominate our everyday lives, despite lockdown, new infections with the virus are at a high level. In order to finally get the crisis under control, the federal and state governments are discussing again this afternoon how to proceed with the lockdown in Germany.

The first decisions are now seeping through: According to information from "Der Spiegel", an agreement has been reached on an extension of the lockdown until February 14th. On the one hand, the previous rules apply, retail and gastronomy remain closed. On the other hand, the measures are to be tightened.

The mask requirement in public transport is now to be adapted nationwide: According to Spiegel information, only medical masks can be worn on buses and trains. In general, public transport should be restricted as much as possible. Additional vehicles to equalize crowds, but also the "extensive use of home offices" are under discussion.

Further resolutions are still pending.
