Corona currently: 43 infected students

Row tests are intended to clarify how many students are actually infected with the corona virus. In Hesse there was now a nasty surprise: with 43 infected people, another school had to close.

Actually, it was just supposed to be a voluntary mass check-up, from which one hoped to clarify the corona situation on site. The result, however, meant that a comprehensive school in Lollar, Hesse, had to close. Because in the test, 43 infected students were discovered.

Serial test reveals 43 corona infections

The classroom teaching at the school has now been suspended for the time being and affected students and their classmates have been quarantined, as reported by the Gießener Allgemeine. Particularly noticeable are the many positive results among the youngest students in the fifth and sixth grades. So far there should be no corona infections among the teachers.

In the course of the year, a total of 60 corona cases have already been reported at the comprehensive school in Lollar. It is not the only outbreak of this kind. It was not until mid-November that a similar mass test in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel led to the school being closed. 55 infected people were even reported there – this is said to have been the largest corona outbreak at a school in Germany.

18,300 schoolchildren across Germany infected

Since many, especially young people, notice even mild or no symptoms of a corona infection, cases are recognized much more poorly. Serial tests are intended to provide relief and detect corona outbreaks at an early stage.

According to the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, 18,300 students across Germany are said to have been infected with the corona virus on Sunday. In addition, 3,800 teachers have so far tested positive. As a result, more than 200,000 students and 13,000 teachers are in quarantine. 106 schools have already been completely closed, and more than 4,000 have recorded temporary partial closings.
