The number of infections in Germany is currently skyrocketing again. The situation is particularly worrying in some areas.

Hesse

On Thursday afternoon, it counted 59.1 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. This is above the key figure of 50, which is important for the course of the corona pandemic, as stated in a general decree issued by the city. A further increase is to be expected. The neighboring city of Offenbach also made a leap in incidence.

Berlin

The number of new infections reported per 100,000 inhabitants within the past seven days in the capital is now 52.8.

Bremen

For the first time, the city of Bremen exceeded the limit of 50 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. The health authorities announced on Wednesday. The value is 57.6.

Baden Württemberg

The day before, the Esslingen district was the first region in Baden-Württemberg to exceed the critical mark of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

Lower Saxony

With the districts of Emsland and Wesermarsch, two districts in Lower Saxony exceeded the critical mark of 50 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days on Thursday.

North Rhine-Westphalia

According to the RKI, Hamm, Remscheid and Hagen are hotspot regions in North Rhine-Westphalia. Aachen-Stadt and Unna also top the 50 mark by their own account.
