Corona in Venice: violent discovery! Spotted dolphins in Italy

Crowds of tourists, rows of gondolas, crowded squares: this characterizes the city of Venice, which often suffocates in the flow of many tourists. But this scenario is now a thing of the past. The streets are swept empty, the gondolas and water taxis have anchored, the Venetians were curfewed due to the corona virus. Venice quickly became a ghost town.

The good side!

But the tourism stop and the quarantine also bring something positive with them. The city's canals are clean again for the first time. The water is crystal clear and you can see the first warmth of fish swimming around. The swans also dared to venture into the canals again. Where people no longer bother, there is space for nature again. A spokesman for the city of Venice reveals the reason for the clear channels to the news channel "CNN".

The water looks clearer because there is less traffic on the canals and the sediments remain on the ground

Nature relaxes

The Italian lagoon city breathes a sigh of relief. Nature takes back what belongs to her. A few decades ago you could still swim in the canals – a popular leisure activity for Italians. Maybe this will be possible again soon?

But the most incredible thing: At the Venetian port, people even want to have spotted dolphins, as you can now read on social media. Is there anything there? A little bit! The animals were not spotted in Venice, but in Sardinia in the harbor basin of the capital Cagliari after the end of shipping.

The message is clear: nature can recover due to the corona crisis. This is also shown by the pictures in China, in which many children saw a blue sky for the first time. At least one good thing that the pandemic is taking care of: nature is taking a break.
