- The Office of the Attorney General (BA) is investigating the latest revelations regarding indiscretions from the Interior Department.
- The question is how e-mails and minutes of conversations from the proceedings against Health Minister Alain Berset’s former head of communications were made public.
At the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, the federal prosecutor did not make any concrete statements on how to proceed. Media spokeswoman Rachel Strebel wrote on Monday that one would comment again when the time came.
“Switzerland at the weekend” reported on Saturday that Berset’s former head of communications Peter Lauener had repeatedly sent confidential information to the “Blick” publisher Ringier about the Federal Council’s planned Covid measures.
Federal special investigators questioned Lauener
According to the newspaper, it relied on emails and interrogation protocols that were available to the editors. Lauener was questioned by the federal special investigator, Peter Marti. The extraordinary public prosecutor was appointed to investigate crypto leaks.
Several federal administration employees were suspected of leaking confidential information to the media in connection with the crypto affair. However, Marti then expanded his investigations to include other possible cases of breaches of official secrecy in connection with the Federal Council’s corona policy.
