Corona lockdown in Wales: will the jungle camp be affected in 2021?

Wales has imposed a corona lockdown: Does it stop the production of "I'm a star – get me out of here!" on the brink?

The annual jungle camp on RTL and on TVNow will not take place in Australia for the first time in 2021. As recently became known, this time the celebrity candidates will have to pack their long johns because they are going to Wales next January – more precisely to Gwrych Castle. However, due to the everywhere increasing corona numbers, the country has now imposed a lockdown. Could the location start off "I'm a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!" endanger?

The contact restrictions in Wales will initially apply from October 23, 2020 to November 9, 2020. Tourism is prohibited during this period, as is leisure activities. On the one hand, the targeted date for the end of the lockdown is well before the expected show date, on the other hand, filming at Gwrych Castle is apparently still allowed according to the current status.

The British version is filmed beforehand

The British version of the jungle camp does not yet have an exact start date, but the show usually starts in November. This version is also supposed to be shot at Gwrych Castle.

According to a post on the official Twitter account of the planned venue it looks as if the shooting could take place as planned – provided that everything goes on in compliance with the prescribed measures and cannot be worked from home. "We can't wait to see 'I'm A Celebrity' [part of the show's name] on our screens," it continues.

A spokesman for the British show has also confirmed to "WalesOnline" that the show "continues to comply with all relevant guidelines", as well as its own "strict Covid protocols".
