That’s how good the quick test is
In a study (1/2022), the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut examined a total of 246 antigen rapid tests that are sold in Germany – 47 products fail completely. Hotgen’s quick test, which is also available in discount stores and supermarkets, scores “satisfactory”. When the viral load was high, the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) antigen test detected 100 percent of the samples. With a medium viral load, the test only works in 47.8 percent of the samples. However, the test does not detect a low viral load and is therefore not reliable in these cases.
