Corona study – those who have been vaccinated and recovered achieve new super immunity

The booster vaccination renews the protection against infection with the Omikron variant, at least in the short term, to around 60 to 80 percent, confirmed the task force. A small study from Austria with 100 participants shows that a so-called “super immunity” can also be achieved against Omikron, writes “Focus”. Two factors play a role here. This immunity, also known as hybrid immunity, is achieved when people are vaccinated on the one hand and have also suffered from corona disease. The order does not matter. So if you have been vaccinated twice and then still get Corona, the chances are good that you will be considered super-immune.

Never again Corona? According to doctors, this formula could neutralize all forms of corona – including omicrons. However, the results of the study have yet to be assessed by independent experts.

In September, researchers in New York discovered a similar phenomenon of immunity. The mutation created in the laboratory was completely resistant to the antibodies of most convalescents and those who had been vaccinated. People who had been vaccinated and who had also recovered were able to fight the virus much better than people who had only been vaccinated or who had just recovered. With this hybrid immunity, one could be armed against all variants that the coronavirus could still bring.
