Corona summit: "Limit meetings to another fixed household"

Chancellor Merkel discussed the future measures against the corona virus with the 16 country leaders on Monday. However, decisions on how to proceed in connection with the corona pandemic in Germany will not be made until November 25th.

Chancellor Angela Merkel stated after the consultations with the Prime Ministers of the 16 states in Berlin that a trend reversal had not yet been achieved: "Otherwise we say and then go into detail again that all unnecessary contacts are to be avoided. Any contact that does not take place is good for fighting the pandemic. That means, the absolutely necessary minimum of contacts must be guaranteed. And that is why we say once again clearly: You should avoid private parties at all. Private get-togethers with friends and relatives and acquaintances should be limited to a fixed, i.e. always the same, additional household. And that also includes children and young people in the families. Leisure-related activities and visits to areas with public traffic as well as unnecessary private trips and tourist day tours must be avoided We repeat this and reaffirm it once more that it should not be necessary Avoid staying in closed rooms with public traffic or unnecessary journeys with public transport. And that visits to older and vulnerable people should only be undertaken if the people are really symptom-free and have not exposed themselves to any particular risk in the days before. "
