Bribes are said to be flowing in Hollywood

Get Covid-19 vaccine early: That should be the plan of many big players in Hollywood. Doctors report bribes.
Arnold Schwarzenegger (73), Steve Martin (75, "Cheaper by the dozen") or Samuel L. Jackson (72): They have all been vaccinated against Covid-19 – in a guideline-compliant manner. The US portal "Variety" now reports that there are also people from the entertainment industry in Hollywood who allegedly gain access to the vaccine. Names are not mentioned, but we are talking about high-ranking executives, business people and power players from the media industry.
About bribes and vaccination tourism
Since the start of the vaccination campaign, the people in question have increasingly let their relationships and wealth play in order to get the vaccine at an early stage. Beverly Hills-based Dr. Robert Huizenga told Variety: "We have been offered bribes." According to his statement, individuals were willing to pay more than 10,000 dollars (approx. 8,240 euros) for a Covid 19 vaccination.
The doctor also reported on so-called vaccination tourism. "We see people who fly to every place by plane," in the hope of getting the vaccine there faster. In addition, the doctor had heard from people who had tried "to come into the health sector temporarily or to work in nursing homes so that they could qualify for an early vaccination".
Wealthy doesn't mean privileged
Dr. Arthur Caplan, director of the Department of Medical Ethics at NYU School of Medicine, confirmed Dr. Huizenga. He had also heard that generous donors or even concierge doctors were contacting hospitals in order to obtain earlier access to the vaccine. "That's bad behavior," said Dr. Caplan. "It shouldn't be tolerated and we should find ways to punish it."
The medic continued, "We have 91-year-olds waiting. Health care workers waiting. People who are wealthy can easily find ways to quarantine, mask, and stay for another month or two stay isolated. And then more vaccine will be available. "
