Corona warning app for Android
Corona warning app as APK for Android
Risk notification in the event of a positive test result
Also new is the risk display for stored positive test results. Previously, after registering a positive test, users were no longer informed about any risky encounters until they had manually deleted the test from the app. That is changing now. From now on you will also receive a corresponding warning if the test is positive. Seven days after your test result, the app also shows the risk tile continuously again. If you had another encounter with an infected person when you were currently at increased risk, you will receive an additional message about this in the future. Also practical: The app now informs you if your G status changes – for example due to a new vaccination certificate.
In the future, however, dealing with convalescence certificates will be a little more complicated. As these have different validity periods depending on the region, the app no longer displays an expiry date. Instead, it shows the date of the first positive test on which the certificate is based. It is also somewhat uncomfortable for people who have received a booster vaccination after being vaccinated with a single-use vaccine such as that from Johnson & Johnson. Since this appears in the app as “vaccination 2 of 2” and cannot be distinguished from the basic immunization with a dual vaccine, the EU has adjusted the specifications for the certificates.
Update certificate via app
In these cases, the booster vaccination must be stored in the app as “Vaccination 2 of 1”. For those affected, this means that official bodies may no longer recognize their previous booster certificates. If you are in possession of such proof, the app will inform you of this via an update request. You can exchange the certificate directly via the Corona-Warn-App. A trip to the pharmacy or additional paperwork is no longer necessary. Last but not least, update 2.20 optimizes the app’s user interface. For example, you can no longer accidentally click on the warning in the contact diary, but only on the date above it. In addition, the QR code for your current certificate disappears from the detail screen for the sake of clarity.
