Coronation of Charles III: this very surprising low-cost dish that will be served to distinguished guests at Buckingham

While the coronation ceremony of King Charles III will take place on Saturday May 6, 2023, a 100% veggie menu will be offered to distinguished guests, including a rather surprising low-cost dish.

Unlike the coronation ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II, which was absolutely grandiose, that of King Charles III will be rather sober, as the British press has already explained. The meal served to guests at this event, which will take place on Saturday May 6, 2023 in London, will be a perfect example of this. As revealed by the official website of the British monarchy, the menu will be 100% veggie and very inexpensive, according to the will of King Charles III in person, very concerned with ecological issues. There will therefore be no poultry or other meat on the plates of the guests, but rather a fried eggplant, accompanied by a yoghurt sauce.

This is a simple and very inexpensive recipe. since it easily costs less than one euro per person. However, it is not a specialty of British gastronomy, but a typical Greek dish. To make this recipe, all you need is the following ingredients: two to three organic eggplants, 100 grams of breadcrumbs, a teaspoon of salt, 200 grams of 0% cottage cheese, two tablespoons of lemon juice, a clove of garlic, half a cucumber, a tablespoon of olive oil, and finally a bunch of chopped flat-leaf parsley. In short, the coronation meal of Charles III will be very far from being sumptuous.

Coronation of Charles III: a royal meal very easy to make at home

To prepare these famous fried eggplants, accompanied by yogurt sauce, you must first peel the cucumber, cut it finely, and sprinkle it with salt, to soak it for half an hour. It must then be drained, then mixed with the garlic and parsley. In a separate bowl, you have to mix in parallel the cottage cheese and the oilstirring everything with a spoon, then add the lemon juice. You will then have to mix this mixture with the mixed cucumber until you obtain a homogeneous sauce.. As for the aubergines, rinse them, then cut them into slices, taking care not to remove the skin, before wiping them with a paper towel. They must then be coated in breadcrumbs before frying them in a pan with olive oil.or bake them in an oven heated to 200 degrees.
