The Coronation of King Charles III. will take place in London on May 6, 2023. This is how you see the royal event on TV and in the live stream.

At the On Saturday, May 6, 2023, King Charles III. officially crowned. The spectacle from London will of course be broadcast live in this country. Numerous television stations are aligning their programs with the historic event. But you can also see the crowning glory in the live stream.

Coronation of Charles III: This is how the celebrations go

At 6am UK time the spectator areas open for the procession. The invited guests should arrive in Victoria Tower Gardens between 07:15 and 08:30, at 09:00 admission is at Westminster Abbey. Guests have until 10:45 a.m. to take their seats for the coronation ceremony.

“The King’s Procession”, the ceremonial parade in which King Charles III. and Queen Camilla from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey departs at 10:25am. The route leads over “The Mall”, the road from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square, over the Houses of Parliament to the coronation church, Westminster Abbey. The royal couple arrives at 11 a.m. local time, which corresponds to 12 p.m. German time.

At 12 p.m. sharp (1 p.m. in Germany), the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will place the Edwardian crown on the head of the British monarch. In the “Coronation Procession”, the royal couple will then travel back to Buckingham Palace at 1 p.m. local time. Around 2:15 p.m., members of the royal family gather on the palace balcony and celebrations conclude with a flyby of an aerobatic squadron.
