Coronavirus-China will lift some Beijing restrictions on Sunday

May 28 (Reuters) – China will ease COVID-19 health restrictions in parts of Beijing considered low risk on Sunday to allow a return to normal life in the capital, authorities said on Saturday.

In the districts of Fangshan and Shunyi, teleworking will no longer be compulsory, they specified during a press conference.

Public transport (buses, metros and taxis) will also operate normally again in three districts and shopping centers will be allowed to reopen in certain areas.

However, the return to normal for some businesses is still delayed, particularly in the sector of private lessons, cybercafes and karaok bars, the authorities added.

Beijing reported 1,716 infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus responsible for COVID-19 between April 22 and Saturday afternoon. (Shanghai office report; French version Claude Chendjou)
