Coronavirus: Karine Lacombe evokes the Russian vaccine Sputnik V and its “interesting effects”: Current Woman The MAG

Emmanuel Macron mentioned Wednesday March 31, 2021 in his speech broadcast on French televisions an acceleration of the vaccination campaign in France. It must be said that France is one of the countries in Europe where the cruising speed of vaccination is the slowest, in particular because of the many questions that have arisen about the AstraZeneca vaccine. But while the Swedish-British vaccine continues to cause controversy, it could be that another serum will arrive soon in France : the Russian vaccine Sputnik V. Indeed, on Monday March 15, the Russian Sovereign Fund (RDIF) announced that vaccine production agreements were made “with companies from Italy, Spain, France and Germany”. But what about Sputnik V? Should we worry about it or on the contrary rush to these doses?

Sputnik V: “Completely satisfactory efficacy and safety data”

Thursday April 1, infectious disease specialist Karine Lacombe, accustomed to TV shows since the start of the epidemic, was passing through C to You on France 5. Asked about the subject, she was rather enthusiastic. “What is happening with this Sputnik V vaccine is that the efficacy and safety data seem quite satisfactory”, she said. “The data that was reported and published four weeks ago now shows that it is a vaccine that is from the same family as AstraZeneca or Janssen and which really seems to have interesting results.”. However, according to Karine Lacombe, it is not immediately that doctors or pharmacies in France will be able to vaccinate with Sputnik V: “Now what needs to be done is to present it to the European Medicines Agency for it to be evaluated and then there to be the production capacities behind”. Indeed, Ysatis’ mother explained what was slowing down the export of this vaccine: “It would seem that there are currently two limits: the capacity of the agency which manufactures this drug to present it to the European Medicines Agency and above all the production capacity of this vaccine”. Moreover, she gave a most telling example: “Look at the Russian population: very few people in Russia are vaccinated”. We will therefore have to wait a little longer before using this famous serum!
