SHANGHAI (Reuters) – China on Wednesday reported the highest number of daily COVID-19 cases ever recorded in the country, official data showed.
The number of new cases of local contamination stood at 31,444 on November 23, Chinese health authorities announced on Thursday, adding that one death had been recorded.
China, which applies a zero tolerance policy against Covid, is facing a rebound in infections in several major economic centers such as Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou and Chongqing.
