Coronavirus: Shanghai schools to reopen on September 1

SHANGHAI (Reuters) – All schools in the megalopolis of Shanghai will reopen on September 1, the municipality announced on Saturday.

Teachers and students will be required to be tested for COVID-19 every day before leaving their schools, said a statement issued by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.

Authorities had ordered the closure of all schools last March, before the city was confined for two months to fight against a resumption of the epidemic of coronavirus.
