Suffice to say that the Computex opens on the wheel caps. Corsair, an equipment supplier usually dedicated to gaming peripherals such as mouse, helmets Where keyboardsannounces a first laptop which targets a rather unexpected target: streamers.

The first laptop gaming from Corsair leans on the red side of the force. The proof is his surname, which leaves little room for doubt: welcome to the Corsair Voyager a1600 AMD Advantage.

A laptop uncompromising gaming

If the technical specificities of the Voyager a1600 AMD Advantage suggest head-on competition with the Alienware X14 or the Lenovo Legion 5, Corsair is giving itself the means to achieve its ambitions with its first step on this market.

First, it must be said that we are dealing with a laptop large format. Its matte 16-inch screen in 16:10 format offers a definition of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels at a frequency of 240 Hz. The panel is also AMD FreeSync Premium certified, and therefore compatible with VRR.

On the configuration side, Corsair will leave the choice between two distinct models. The first offers an AMD Ryzen 7 6800 HS CPU (8C/16T @4.4 GHz), 16 GB of DDR5 and 1 TB of NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD. The second runs on a Ryzen 9 6900 HS (8C/16T @ 4.8 GHz); 32GB DDR5 and 2TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 storage.

Both models have a number of common denominators. Starting with their graphics card: the Radeon RX 6800M. The first mobile GPU derived from the Radeon 6800, which must therefore prove itself against an RTX 3070 Ti Max-Q in very good shape on the laptop gaming market.

For gaming… and streaming!

Corsair, parent company of the well-known equipment supplier of content creators Elgato, took care to calibrate its first laptop for streamers looking for a nomadic solution.

In this case, a detail of the Voyager a1600 AMD Advantage immediately catches our eye: the presence, above the mechanical keyboard (we are talking about Cherry MX Ultra-Low Profile switches), of 10 “S-Key” keys configurable at will thanks to the Stream Deck application. Yes, named after Elgato’s famous streaming device.

Thanks to it, you can configure various shortcuts, in particular to manage your different scenes or trigger sound or visual effects via OBS or any other streaming software.

Finally, on the connection and connectivity side, the Voyager a1600 AMD Advantage has two USB 4.0 Thunderbolt 3 ports, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, an SDXC card reader 7.0 and 3.5 mm jack ports. It supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

The computer comes with Windows 11.
