After having scoured the seas of the vast computer hardware market, Corsair is sailing for the first time towards the territory of gaming laptops.

Appropriately named Voyager a1600 AMD Advantage Edition, this new product from the brand is primarily aimed at players and demanding streamers… a bit wealthy.

Corsair embarks on a new journey

The Voyager a1600 first sports a 16″ QHD+ (2560 x 1600) IPS panel with up to 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, further bolstered by support for AMD FreeSync Premium technology.

To keep up with this relatively large screen, Corsair’s first laptop has some in the hold. It can indeed count on a Radeon RX 6800M graphics card, a choice of an AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS eight-core processor clocked up to 4.4 Ghz or Ryzen 9 6900HS eight-core processor clocked up to 4.8 Ghz, 16 to 32 GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM and a 1-2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD.

On the connectivity side, the Voyager a1600 is not left out with two USB 4.0 Thunderbolt ports, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, an SDXC card reader and a combo jack. Support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are also included. Note that the Voyager a1600 is offered with Windows 11 natively installed.

For wealthy mobile gamers and streamers

A complete and extremely effective technical sheet for gaming. But Corsair also crafted its first laptop with streamers in mind.

To do this, the brand has teamed up with Elgato and its Stream Deck to integrate 10 programmable keys on the keyboard, located under the screen and serving as a control space for streamers. This is accompanied by a 1080p/30fps webcam and a four-way microphone with noise cancellation functionality that complete the picture. The backlit keyboard via RGB on several zones, however, ignores a numeric keypad.

All this is offered in a relatively thin and compact design, with a form factor of 19.8 mm and a weight of 2.4 kg. To accompany freshwater sailors everywhere, it has a 6,410 mAh 99 Wh battery.

To afford the services of the already available Corsair Voyager a1600, however, you will have to pay a lot of money. The model integrating a Ryzen 7 6800HS, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD is indeed offered at the extremely salty price of 3299.99 euros. The one equipped with a Ryzen 9 6900HS, 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD sees the note go to the rather fabulous price of 3699.99 euros.
