After a successful mechanical keyboard, the K70 RGB Pro, Corsair is tackling a 6% ultra-compact, wireless and fully customizable version: the K70 Pro Mini.

After the fashion for TKL gaming keyboards (without numeric keypad), most manufacturers have turned to even more compact models in 60% format. Not having a numeric keypad, nor arrow keys, nor dedicated function keys, they are clearly not intended for everyone, but make it possible to conserve a lot of space on their desk, to leave room for mouse movements. in play and are easily transportable. It is therefore this audience of followers of minimalism that Corsair is targeting with its K70 Pro Mini, the second 60% offered by the brand.

He has switches Mechanical (switches) from Cherry, with a choice of fairly classic MX Red or more responsive MX Speed. There will also be a braided and detachable USB-C cable, and the connection to the computer is done either with this cable to take advantage of a super fast 8000 Hz polling rate – but, to be honest, hardly noticeable — either via Bluetooth or a USB radio receiver for less latency. Corsair announces 32 hours of autonomy with the backlight and 200 hours if it is off. In addition, the keys are made of double injection PBT plastic, a guarantee of quality and good longevity.

Extensive customization

This model tries to stand out from the competition by offering extensive customization. If the key-by-key backlighting is part of it, as on most high-end keyboards, the switches here are “hot-swappable”, i.e. exchangeable with other models. This allows you to affix your switches preferred on a zone or the entire keypad by purchasing an optional kit. Likewise, sets of keys can be purchased separately for $30 to customize the keyboard a bit more.

The K70 Pro Mini is in any case adorned with resolutely high-end features, even if the price asked by Corsair is likely to cool more than one. The keyboard is indeed displayed at 190 €, a price generally reserved for advanced keyboards in full format, even if we imagine that the wireless and the hot-swappable dimension have undoubtedly increased the final invoice. In any case, we meet soon for a complete test.
