Corsair wants to give a facelift to the mechanical keyboard market by marketing its K100 Air, an “ultrathin” model designed for game addicts.

Known for its gaming peripherals, and more recently for its “curved” gaming screen, the manufacturer Corsair has just announced a new mechanical keyboard: the K100 Air. Distant cousin of the K100 RGB, this keyboard offers a slightly different experience from the mechanical models available on the market thanks to its “ultra-thin” design, says the manufacturer.

11 mm at the thinnest

At the thinnest point, the device displays a height of barely 11 mm, very far from what we are used to seeing on keyboards of the same kind, generally quite imposing in order to offer a wide stroke when typing. . By employing Cherry MX Ultra Low Profile switches, the keyboard has “a reliable and pleasant typing quality” who offers “a modern and high-end experience that will meet the needs of gamers and users looking for productivity“, details Corsair in its press release.

The chassis of the accessory is made of brushed aluminum and the keyboard is able to connect wirelessly to a whole host of devices (up to three simultaneously), either thanks to the manufacturer’s own Slipstream Wireless technology, or via the good old Bluetooth. It is also possible to connect it wired thanks to its USB-C socket. Corsair promises 50 hours of battery life with the backlight on or 200 hours with the backlight off,”which means you can use it for over a week without recharging“, promises the company.

An unknown price

On the functional side, the K100 Air has four programmable macro keys and multimedia keys capable of managing your music or the brightness of your screen. A programmable control wheel, placed above the numeric keypad, is also part of the game. The accessory even comes with 8MB of memory to save up to 50 usage profiles and supports up to “20 complex RGB lighting layers“. Enough to have the right shortcuts and the right look at hand for your gaming sessions.
