Twenty-nine migrants were found in a truck intercepted by the gendarmes on the A6 motorway near Merceuil (Côte d’Or), the driver being still wanted, we learned this Friday from the prefecture.
The small truck was stopped late Thursday afternoon by the gendarmes who found 29 people, migrants, in its trailer, the same source said.
Placed in administrative detention
The driver and a passenger managed to escape. The nationality of the migrants, who do not have papers, is not known, but they all call themselves Indians. They were placed in administrative detention, according to the prefecture.
