Graf Nikolai has made his Instagram account public
Since January 1st, the children of Prince Joachim, 53, are no longer allowed to use their prince and princess titles. Queen Margrethe, 82, announced her decision to withdraw her title in September last year. Joachim’s eldest son, Count Nikolai, 23, explained just a few weeks ago how much his grandmother’s decision had hurt him. But now the former prince is drawing attention to himself with something completely different: his Instagram account.
Because this is no longer private, but public. Is the 23-year-old aiming for a career as an influencer? Possible. After all, within a few hours he was able to win over 3,400 followers. Nikolai has been a model for years, so his first post is a photo of him on the catwalk. “Five years ago. My first runway for @burberry,” he wrote. One thing is for sure: his girlfriend Benedikte Thoustrup, who of course follows him, is happy about Nikolai’s Instagram debut. She leaves a like on his post and links it to a picture from their skiing holiday together in her Instagram story.

Prince Joachim represents Queen Margrethe and Prince Frederik
As the second-born, Prince Joachim, 53, will always stand behind his heir brother, Prince Frederik, 54. The eternal second had expressed his dissatisfaction with this “neither written nor spoken” royal role in 2021 in an interview with “Point de Vue”. Then his children were also deprived of the titles of prince and princess. A painful experience that could soon be alleviated somewhat, because: Joachim gets the opportunity to shine in the center.
From February 7 to February 13 inclusive, the prince is entered in the official royal calendar as Reichsvorste (Riksföreståndare). The reason: Both Queen Margrethe, 82, and the crown prince couple are staying outside of Denmark during this period. The palace has confirmed to “BT” that Frederik and Princess Mary, 50, will go on vacation. But where to is a private matter.
