L’Cayeux case, whatever it hides, should not stop there. One of two things: either the Minister has made a mistake by establishing a false declaration of assets, and this offense must be characterized and then sanctioned; or it has not committed any fraud and it will not be necessary to be satisfied with a court decision classifying the file. In this case, it is the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP) that will have to be held to account. At this point, and reading the arguments of both parties – the accusing press release and that of Mr.me Cayeux – the least we can say is that there is room for doubt. Logically, it should have benefited the defendant. That’s not what happened.
