Counter-Strike 2: Settings should lead to extreme input lags – This could be the solution

COUNTER STRIKE 2

In Counter-Strike 2, a player is said to have found the best settings to reduce input lag. We’ll tell you which options you should deactivate.

  • In Counter-Strike 2, certain settings are said to cause input lag.
  • Vsync may introduce a 15 millisecond delay.
  • Anti-aliasing is said to cause a delay of 0.89 milliseconds.

Input lag in Counter-Strike 2 is probably an issue that many players fear. Already in Counter-Strike Global Offensive (“CS:GO”), players try to achieve as many frames per second (“FPS”) as possible using all game settings and adjustments.

Therefore, in CS:GO it is also common to encounter players who set their graphics settings to the lowest quality in order to keep the input lag as low as possible. Many fans have probably asked themselves how much influence the individual settings actually have.

Reddit user Piwielle investigated this question and shared a screenshot illustrating input lag at different settings in Counter-Strike 2.

Input delay in various settings

According to the test, vertical synchronization (“VSync) causes by far the most damage. He measured a delay of 15 milliseconds. Multisampling anti-aliasing is also said to have a negative impact on the input delay. The highest available setting is “8x MSAA”. Piwielle found a delay of 0.89 milliseconds.

This is what Counter-Strike 2 looks like.

The remaining graphics settings, such as particle details and global shadow quality, apparently only have a marginal influence and cause delays between 0.10 and 0.33 milliseconds.

However, if your goal is to minimize input lag as effectively as possible, it might be advisable to set all settings to the lowest value or even disable them completely.

The Player Contrast setting is reportedly the only option that doesn’t negatively impact input lag. Since the last update, some of you may have had the opportunity to test these settings in Counter-Strike 2 yourself, as Valve is sending out new beta additions again.
