Country star Garth Brooks is accused of rape in a lawsuit. The singer has already commented on the massive allegations.

Country star Garth Brooks (62) is said to have raped and sexually abused a hair and make-up artist. At least that’s what the woman who apparently worked as a make-up artist for the musician claims. According to US media, a corresponding lawsuit was filed on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The woman, who does not give her real name in the lawsuit and is instead referred to as Jane Roe, claims the assault occurred while she was traveling with the singer from Nashville to Los Angeles. As Sky News also reports, the plaintiff describes in the lawsuit that although Brooks normally travels with a team, she and Brooks flew to the event alone on his private jet and he only booked a hotel suite for both of them. The alleged rape is said to have occurred there. After that, he expected her to take care of his hair and makeup.

Jane Roe’s lawsuit also describes other incidents of sexual harassment.

He is said to have already filed a lawsuit anonymously

To forestall the allegations, Brooks is said to have filed a separate lawsuit in federal court in Mississippi last month, in which both he and the woman remained anonymous, according to Thursday’s lawsuit.

In court papers in the case, the plaintiff, identified as John Doe, said the allegations were “completely untrue” and that he first learned about them in July when she threatened to publicly sue him if he didn’t pay her millions give dollars. He asked a judge to stop the woman for “intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation and invasion of privacy.”

Statement by Garth Brooks

On Thursday evening, country star Garth Brooks announced told People magazine a statement on the rape complaint. “For the past two months, I have been harassed non-stop with threats, lies and tragic stories about what my future would be if I didn’t write a multi-million dollar check,” Brooks said. “It was as if a loaded gun had been shoved in my face.”

He doesn’t want to admit what he didn’t do. “Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my opinion, that means I’m admitting to behavior I’m not capable of – ugly acts that no human being should ever do to another,” it says the explanation continues. “We filed a lawsuit against this individual almost a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation. We filed the lawsuit anonymously to protect the families on both sides.”

“I want to play music tonight,” Brooks concluded his statement. “I want to continue our good deeds. It breaks my heart that these wonderful things are now being questioned. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth.”
