ARD turns the “bad boy” into an EM expert

ARD has signed a special new addition to its team of experts at the European Football Championship. The former Bundesliga player Kevin-Prince Boateng will analyze the games for the “Sportschau” in the summer. His introduction clip is already promising.

ARD landed a surprise coup for its team of experts at the European Football Championship. Kevin-Prince Boateng will analyze the games for the “Sportschau” at the pan-European tournament this summer. “I’ve seen just about everything,” says the 34-year-old in an introductory clip that lasts a little over a minute. In it, Boateng looks back on his eventful career with his free upper body adorned with numerous tattoos and flirts with his bad boy image. “I played my way from the streets of Berlin to San Siro,” says the native of Berlin. “I am a brother, bad boy and leader – but always with a heart”.

The video ends with the words: “I wear every stage of my career on my body. But the biggest one is waiting for me now.” Suddenly a tattoo artist appears out of the dark and on Boateng’s right shoulder the sign of the “Sportschau” can be seen. Boateng complements the ARD team with world champion Bastian Schweinsteiger, Olympic champion Almuth Schult and ex-professional Thomas Broich. He is currently under contract with the Italian second division club AC Monza. In total, he played for 14 clubs. “Until now,” he says.

In the Bundesliga, he played for Hertha BSC, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt, and in 2018 he won the DFB Cup with Hessen. He also played in England, Italy, Spain and Turkey. In addition, the brother of 2014 world champion Jérôme Boateng took part in two World Cup finals for Ghana. Next to the square, Kevin-Prince Boateng stands out with his commitment against racism.
