The small Puy Foot 43 team meets Rennes this Thursday evening for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France. For the club’s supporters, their team’s journey is historic. Everyone intends to be behind the Puy-en-Velay players and dreams of beating their opponents.
The Coupe de France continues and the Petit Poucet of the competition faces Stade Rennais this Thursday evening. The Nationale 2 resident will try to create a surprise against the 7th in Ligue 1, in the quarter-finals of the competition. A first in history for this modest National 2 club. In training, on the stadium pitch, the club’s young players are attentive and carry out exercises. At 24, Bryan Adinany, the striker, believes in victory.
“We know that the rate is going to be very high. But we’re not going there just to show our presence, we’re going there to win, that’s for sure,” he explains on Europe 1 “At the first opportunity, I will try to put them in as much difficulty as possible,” continues the footballer. In the streets of the city center, blue and white jerseys and balloons in the club’s colors adorn store windows. Since the announcement of the location of the match at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium in Saint-Etienne, supporters have been organizing themselves and renting buses to get to the stadium.

“Within an hour, the bus was full,” said one of the organizers. It must be said that the enthusiasm is strong. Nearly 28,000 tickets have already been sold to attend the meeting. “Few clubs have done it. We have the chance to experience this at least once in our lives. It’s joy, it’s pride. It’s my favorite club,” says one supporter. “We will have more votes at the end,” he predicts. The whole of Haute-Loire will be behind these young players. Many small sports clubs in the department will be present to support them.
