Couple in their 70s killed on their way to celebrate 50 years of marriage with family

Gilda D’Amore, 73, and Bruno D’Amore, 74, were killed as they were going celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family. Gilda D’Amore’s mother, Lucia Arpino, 97, was also killed.

Guests were waiting for the couple at the church for the start of mass at 10 a.m., but quickly grew concerned when they never saw him arrive. One of them then went to the couple’s home in Newton and discovered the three dead people, as reported by WCVB. Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan said Gilda D’Amore had more than 30 stab wounds and blunt force trauma. As for the other victims, their injuries are currently unknown as the authorities await the results of the autopsy.
