Get out of the lockdown – and into the next one. “Pandemic tired” is the ever-smoldering term that seems to apply to many people. Carola Holzner is a doctor and vented her annoyance on social media.

At another Corona summit, the Prime Ministers will debate the Corona measures on Monday afternoon. The Chancellery wants a tightened extension, that much is already clear after a draft published on Sunday. There are also curfews, which people in federal states such as Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg should be familiar with. It was only relaxed two weeks ago – at least in some countries, and then again only for hairdressers, flower shops and book shops. The permanent rule changes not only cause confusion for many people, they also ensure that criticism of the federal government and those involved is steadily growing.

This is also the case with some doctors who have repeatedly expressed themselves on social media in the past, including Carola Holzner. Holzner is a specialist in anesthesia, intensive care and emergency medicine and blogs as “Doc Caro” in social networks about her everyday life as a doctor. The nursing staff and doctors in the clinics in particular feel at the forefront when the restrictions are tightened and then relaxed again, both of which are mostly criticized as being too early or too late. Holzner calls her new and very acute state of mind “moody”, a mixture of tired and angry.

Nobody can stand this political fuss (even if Easter is soon)

Doc Caro is particularly annoyed about the political back and forth that affects masks, rapid tests, vaccines and schools: “Open – close – half open – a little open – hairdressers – schools – gastro. Children = pandemic driver no, then yes. Or at least rather maybe? Concept in schools? Nothing. There are windows, “she annoys on Facebook and Instagram. It seems to hit a nerve. The more than 6,000 commentators often agree, especially when it comes to their criticism of the federal government’s communication strategy: “We don’t just have an end in sight, but simply a concept. And one that everyone understands. We can only support decisions that we can understand. That not only make sense, but are also meaningfully communicated. ”

Fighting pandemics instead of election campaigns make people less “moody”

Many of the commentators share this view and show solidarity with the hospital staff. But sentences like “I will not fly away. I will continue to adhere to rules that I consider sensible” are grist to the mill of some corona deniers who also gather under the post. Grist to the mill of those people for whom the so-called lockdown, which in comparison with countries like France or Spain can hardly be described as such, is merely an advance measure of the government to curb the citizens.

Carola Holzner does not question the pandemic itself, but rather how to deal with it. Therefore, everyone should pull together, she demands: “For the good of health. That should be at the top.”
