The number of cases of “fever” in North Korea fell for the 7th consecutive day on Friday, said state media KCNA, which does not expressly cite Covid-19. North Korean news agency KCNA reported just over 100,000 new cases of “fever” according to the official name used to designate Covid-19 on Friday, a figure down from the 390,000 daily cases reported at the beginning of the month. KCNA also reported one additional death on Friday – bringing the total to 69 – and said the fatality rate remains at 0.002%. According to her, more than three million people have fallen ill from the “fever”, since the authorities acknowledged its existence in North Korea on May 12.
Japan has announced it will reopen to tourists from 98 countries including France from June 10, ending more than two years of pandemic-related border closures, but travelers will only be able to enter in groups .
