Covid-19: faced with strong demand for FFP2 masks, manufacturers are organizing

Demand for FFP2 masks has been on the rise in recent weeks. Today, the population and health establishments are waiting for more filtering masks and therefore more protective against the Omicron variant. Mask manufacturers must therefore reorganize. This is the case with Valmy Industries.

Since the start of the year, orders have been received from manufacturers of FFP2 masks. The company Valmy Industries, based near Roanne in the Loire, should even devote 75% of its activity to the manufacture of FFP2 masks in the coming weeks, due to the progress of the Omicron variant.

Requests “from everywhere”

“We knew very well, because of the new variant, that the demand would perhaps increase. And that’s what happened. There, really, since Monday, it hasn’t stopped. We really have requests for everywhere, for hospitals, large groups, laboratories or medical distributors “, announces Esteban Vaz, sales manager at Valmy Industries.

Towards a generalization of FFP2?

Suddenly, the company has no choice but to change its organization. “We hope, by next week, about ten newcomers to strengthen the production teams. And then, of course, we will have to wait for future announcements from the government on, perhaps, the generalization of the FFP2. We are also dependent on that “, concludes the person in charge.
