Guest of Europe Morning Tuesday, the spokesperson for La République en Marche (LREM), Maud Bregeon, answered questions from Lionel Gougelot. While Jean Castex announced the return of the gauges for cultural events and not for political meetings, Maud Bregeon affirms that LREM’s political meetings will also be affected by this measure.

INTERVIEW

At the end of a health defense council and a council of ministers devoted to the epidemic outbreak, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced the return of the gauges inside and outside except for political meetings. Maud Bregeon, spokesperson for La République en Marche (LREM) returned to this measure at the microphone of Lionel Gougelot on Tuesday morning. “It is not a decision taken one way or the other, it is imposed by the Constitution and the Constitutional Council had already expressed itself on it”, she declared.

“A spirit of responsibility”

As Richard Ferrand, President of the National Assembly, recalled Monday evening, “the majority will apply these gauges to political events in a spirit of responsibility,” said Maud Bregeon. “And I invite all political organizations to do the same.”

“The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, will convene a commission in which all the political forces will be represented to reflect on the measures that could be taken in a consensual and transversal manner between the different political parties so that democracy, which must imperatively be live with the approach of the presidential election, can live in the best possible conditions “, she concluded on this subject.

Indoor events will be limited to 2,000 people and 5,000 outdoors. This measure will take effect on Monday.
