Covid-19: what does the "hybrid confinement" envisaged by Emmanuel Macron consist of? : Current Woman The MAG

It is a decision fraught with consequences that the President is about to take. Almost a year after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Emmanuel Macron despairs to see the curve of people admitted to intensive care stagnating. Himself affected by the virus a few weeks ago, he knows it better than anyone … the situation is urgent. After attending the weekly Council of Ministers on January 27, 2021, Brigitte Macron's husband plans to strengthen health measures, even going so far as to imagine a third confinement. It must be said that the figures concerning the English variant of the coronavirus do not bode well. According to the political service of BFMTV, the government of Jean Castex, which no longer knows where to turn, would have opted for a "hybrid containment".

"Rebalancing in favor of young people"

According to our colleagues, a new defense council should be organized on Saturday, January 30, 2021. However, the executive seems to rule out confinement as in March 2020: "The lessons of the first two confinements have been learned. We must move towards a hybrid formula, without changing our doctrine ", reports a source close to the Elysée to BFMTV. Indeed, Emmanuel Macron would like to spare the youngest: "The President is more worried than ever about the psychological impacts of a third confinement … Rebalancing in favor of young people, that's the idea", a close friend of the President told theAFP.

This "hybrid confinement" would also mean the extension of the February vacation. Asked about it on France Inter Thursday January 28, 2021, Gabriel Attal, Government spokesperson, did not deny: "It is obviously possible to think about extending the holidays on one side or the other. All the scenarios are on the table, nothing is excluded." What about non-essential businesses? According to sources close to the Elysee Palace, collected by BFMTV, the executive does not want "get back in the face of the debate on what is essential or what is not". Will the French still be able to travel during the next holidays? Nothing is less sure. The issue of travel restrictions on the territory will be studied before the end of the weekend. Tick tock, tick tock …
