Covid: tests drop below 4 million

Between April 4 and April 10, fewer than 3.8 million PCR and antigen tests were validated, marking a 6% drop from last week.

After four consecutive weeks of an increase in the number of Covid-19 screening tests, the trend is reversing and the weekly number of screenings has dropped below 4 million, according to figures published Thursday by the Ministry of Health.

Between April 4 and April 10, less than 3.8 million RT-PCR and antigen tests were validated, against more than 4 million the previous week, marking a drop of 6%, specifies the Directorate of Statistics (Drees) in a statement. This slight decrease, which concerns all age groups but is clearer for those under 26“, is concomitant with that of contaminations, the average of infections over the last seven days standing at 131,369 on Wednesday against 134,991 a week ago.

Contaminations seem to have stalled for a few days, and the trend is drawing a timid ebb which may give hope for a relaxation of hospital tension.
