Covivio launches a water saving program

(Boursier.com) — Covivio is intensifying its efforts for water conservation in all of its offices in France with the EcoWater program.

Based on an inventory carried out across the entire office park, EcoWater structures and develops actions around 4 pillars: economical daily consumption, leak detection, real-time management and mobilization of resources. ‘ecosystem. This program, which is intended to be reproduced across all office assets in Europe, aims to exceed the objective of the government Water Plan to reduce water withdrawals by 10% by 2030.

Covivio focused on the two main areas in terms of consumption: sanitary facilities and catering areas, in order to equip them with hydro-economic equipment, such as aerators and flow limiters, economical toilet flushes, sensor taps… all with a target rate of hydro-saving equipment increased to 80% of equipment by the end of 2024 (65% currently).

Covivio also wishes to increase the number of water recovery systems installed by 20% by the end of 2024. By then, Covivio intends to equip 100% of its multi-tenant buildings with processes and/or detection equipment. making it possible to limit leaks, like its IRO buildings in Châtillon and So Pop in Saint-Ouen. Beyond concrete actions in terms of equipment and monitoring, Covivio also focuses on raising awareness and mobilizing building occupants.

Remember that on average, water consumption in an office building is 0.33 m3/m2/year. In Covivio’s French office portfolio, water intensity decreased by 38% between 2008 and 2022, to reach 0.26 m3/m2/year.
